About
Caitlin Eckberg, PT, is a UW Health physical therapist who holds a doctorate in physical therapy.
Caitlin treats people with neurologic conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and brain cancer, along with other disorders that affect the brain and nervous system. She also cares for musculoskeletal conditions, including post-operative recovery, acute injuries and chronic pain in the joints, muscles and spine.
Her clinical interests include balance and walking problems, weakness, coordination issues, fatigue and mobility limits. She is interested in neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to adapt and rewire, to help patients retrain movement and restore function. She also helps people with joint pain, decreased mobility and movement problems that make daily activities harder.
Caitlin believes movement is powerful medicine. She aims to teach and empower patients to help heal their own bodies through purposeful movement and exercise. She takes a collaborative, encouraging and goal-focused approach that helps patients understand their condition and build skills for long-term success. She also has experience in fall prevention research, with a focus on helping older adults and people with neurologic conditions reduce fall risk, improve safety and maintain independence at home and in the community.
Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys spending time with her family, baking bread, cooking new recipes, reading, playing pickleball, lifting weights with her sister and running.
