Benjamin Lipanot, MD, is a UW Health pulmonary (lung) and critical care medicine doctor. He’s also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Lipanot evaluates and treats patients of all ages who have acute (sudden) or chronic (ongoing) lung and respiratory diseases and related conditions or complications.
Dr. Lipanot assesses symptoms such as shortness of breath and neuromuscular (nerve and muscle) disorders that interfere with breathing during sleep. He also manages care for patients who are hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU). He works alongside other specialists to treat severe respiratory infections, illnesses and traumatic injuries requiring critical care.
In addition, Dr. Lipanot sees patients in the clinic for evaluation and follow-up care. His prior experience in pediatric care and internal medicine (primary care for adults) gives him a unique understanding of patients and families faced with chronic health conditions.
In his free time, Dr. Lipanot enjoys being with his children and family, as well as biking, running and hiking.
I help patients get the care they need, and I support patients and families emotionally, physically and medically as they reach their personal goals.
