About

Ashley Berka, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner in maternal-fetal medicine. She cares for women with high-risk pregnancies. Their pregnancies are high risk because either the mothers or their unborn babies have other health concerns. These may include heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, a history of miscarriage or a pregnancy with more than one fetus.

Ashley’s special clinical interest is caring for women who suffer from gestational hypertension or preeclampsia (high blood pressure during pregnancy or shortly afterward). Her own experience with this condition and the compassionate care she received inspired her to care for those experiencing similar challenges.

When Ashley sees patients, she listens closely to their concerns and educates them about their diagnosis and treatment plans. She also works to ease their anxieties and encourages open communication between patients and their care team.

Ashley’s goal is to provide women with excellent prenatal care and help them deliver healthy babies.

During her free time, Ashley enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family and their dog.

It’s a privilege to provide specialized care to keep women and babies safe during high-risk pregnancies.
