Amy Thomas, LPC, is a UW Health licensed professional counselor. She works with both kids and families. Amy specializes in treating depression, anxiety and transition challenges.
She helps patients navigate relationships, work and academic issues during adolescence. Amy also has experience working with athletes and young adults who face performance challenges.
Amy has a special interest in mindfulness, narrative therapy and transcultural psychiatry. Narrative therapy focuses on how your story shapes your identity and how to rewrite a more positive story to take control of your life. Transcultural psychiatry is the role social and cultural factors play in mental health conditions and treatment.
She believes in the healing power of the arts to foster insight, deepen self-awareness and support meaningful change in therapy.
In her free time, Amy enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and pets.
I enjoy elevating an individual’s strengths while simultaneously addressing areas of challenge and pain.
