About

Amanda Dassler, NP, is a UW Health neonatal nurse practitioner who provides specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns requiring intensive monitoring and advanced medical intervention. She cares for infants born extremely premature as well as those experiencing complications related to prematurity, congenital anomalies or perinatal distress.

Amanda focuses on stabilizing and supporting each infant’s unique needs, including respiratory and nutritional management, developmental care and close collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams. She is deeply committed to family education and clear communication, ensuring parents feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their baby’s hospital course. Her goal is to promote the best possible outcomes for each infant while supporting families through every step of their journey.

Amanda’s passion for caring for premature infants comes from a very personal place. After her own daughter was born at 26 weeks gestation, she experienced the NICU from a parent’s perspective. That experience gave her a profound appreciation for the resilience of premature infants and the trust families place in their care team. It continues to shape her approach to patient care today.

Her patient care philosophy is rooted in compassion, empathy and respect for both patients and families. Amanda believes family‑centered, evidence‑based care is essential to building trust, promoting healing and achieving positive outcomes for the NICU’s most vulnerable patients. She strives to be both a skilled clinician and a strong advocate, delivering individualized, thoughtful care while supporting families as active partners in their baby’s care.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending quality time with her family and exploring new places together. She has a strong passion for travel and outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking and fishing. Spending time in nature helps her recharge and maintain balance, allowing her to bring her best self to the families she serves.
