Allison Plummer, LCSW (she/her) is a mental health clinician at UW Health. She received her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010. Allison has experience working in various community-based settings, clinics, and hospitals and in various social work related roles. She specializes in treating a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, stress management, adjustment to life transitions and/or medical diagnoses, grief, trauma, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, relationship issues, and more.

Allison started her social work career in the early 2000’s working as a case manager for people living with HIV/AIDS. This experience helped inform her practice of creating a safe place for those living with chronic illness, as well as people in the LGBTQ+ community. Allison holds a dual license as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor and has worked as an AODA therapist for those living with substance use disorders, and also affected family members of people touched by addiction. Allison brings the following frameworks to her therapy sessions: cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, insight therapies, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, behavioral activation, and solution focused therapy.
