About

Alison Jayme, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner in general surgery. Alison cares for patients who are having same-day surgery for a range of conditions, including abdominal and gastrointestinal (GI) disorders.

Alison evaluates and treats patients during various stages of their diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Most of her patients are having emergency surgery for conditions such as appendicitis, gallbladder disease or bowel injuries and diseases. As part of the general surgery team, Alison collaborates with surgical specialists and subspecialists and other departments to provide individualized care.

Alison’s role includes advanced wound care for surgical and traumatic wounds. She also performs specialized ostomy care for abdominal stomas (surgically created openings in the abdomen for waste removal).

As a nurse practitioner, Alison surgically removes cysts and lipomas (noncancerous fatty tumors) and foreign objects embedded in skin or open wounds. Her well-rounded, holistic approach to patient care includes educating patients about wound care and explaining other important details about conditions, treatments and care.

In her free time, Alison enjoys bicycling, hiking, motorcycling and camping.

Having been on the patient side of care many times, I understand the need to feel heard and know you’re not just another number. That’s a game-changer.
