Ali Antar, MD

About

Ali Antar, MD, is a UW Health urologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Antar uses only minimally invasive approaches to diagnose and treat urinary tract and male reproductive system disorders.

Dr. Antar treats conditions such as enlarged prostate, kidney stones, incontinence and bladder disorders, and conditions that restrict or block any part of the urinary tract. He identifies the source of pain or other symptoms and discusses treatment options with patients.

Dr. Antar is skilled in using less-invasive, camera-guided technologies and tools. He treats urological disorders without the need for surgical incisions or with just a few tiny incisions for faster, easier recovery.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Antar conducts research that includes testing laser therapies to treat kidney stones. He is also studying the potential complications of certain laser-based treatments for advanced prostate disease. His long-term research focuses on educating tomorrow’s doctors, including ways to teach and enhance surgical techniques for the best possible outcomes.

In his free time, Dr. Antar enjoys playing the guitar, reading and collecting classic books, camping and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
