Alexander Lepak, MD, is a UW Health infectious disease doctor and associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Lepak specializes in diagnosing and treating infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and other microorganisms. He cares for people with a wide range of infections, including complex or difficult-to-treat infections that may require specialized testing or long-term treatment.
Dr. Lepak works to identify the cause of an infection and determine the most effective treatment. He uses his extensive experience in infectious diseases to help patients manage their infection, prevent complications and support recovery.
He also has expertise in preventing infections and understanding how infections spread, helping patients and health care teams take steps to reduce the risk of infection and improve outcomes.
