What is Endometriosis

Endometriosis is caused when the tissue that lines the inside of a woman's uterus grows outside of the uterus. Endometriosis most commonly involves your ovaries, fallopian tubes and the tissue lining your pelvis. Rarely, endometrial tissue may spread beyond reproductive organs including the bowel, bladder, diaphragm, and pleural cavity.

Endometriosis can cause pain, sometimes severe, especially during your period. It can also cause infertility.
