Nicole Pulia, PhD, CCC-SLP

Nicole Pulia, PhD, CCC-SLP, is a UW Health speech language pathologist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of voice disorders, including conditions related to breathing, swallowing and chronic cough. She works with patients experiencing hoarseness, vocal strain, throat discomfort and complex airway or upper digestive tract concerns that impact communication and quality of life.

Nicole has a strong clinical and research interest in the connection between swallowing and voice disorders, as well as breathing conditions that affect the throat, such as chronic cough and paradoxical vocal fold motion. Her work focuses on better understanding how these systems interact to improve diagnosis and develop more effective, personalized treatments.

She is committed to providing patient-centered care, taking time to understand everyone’s symptoms, goals and daily challenges. Nicole believes everyone deserves a voice that functions at its best. She values building strong relationships with her patients, ensuring they feel heard, supported and empowered throughout their care.
