About

A Wisconsin native, Michele grew up in Middleton, Wisconsin and earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She went on to complete her medical school training at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, participating in the Training in Urban Medicine and Public Health (TRIUMPH) program in Milwaukee, WI. Continuity of care with mothers and babies is a special interest of Michele’s that drew her to family medicine. Before medical school, she worked with certified nurse midwives at Sixteenth Street Community Health Center in Milwaukee as an Americorps member where she helped support the Centering Pregnancy program and optimized patient education materials in the women’s health department. While in medical school, Michele co-led the MOMS (Medical students Offering Maternal Support) program, which partners students with expectant moms to serve as support during pregnancy, labor, and birth and demonstrated the importance of supporting mothers who have limited community support. In residency and beyond, Michele has developed additional interest and skills in helping patients with complicated breastfeeding problems, medication management for opioid use disorder, and inclusive care for LGBTQ folks.
