About

Kirstin Nackers, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric hospitalist. She cares for children of all ages who have been hospitalized for various acute illnesses and complications from pre-existing chronic medical conditions.

With an aim towards providing complete care, Dr. Nackers coordinates with other medical professionals as needed to co-manage her pediatric patients’ needs.

One of Dr. Nackers’s goals is to empower families to care for their children after a hospital stay. Using common language to describe medical terms, she educates families to help them understand their child's medical needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Nackers is an associate professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She also serves as the director of pediatric medical student education.

In her free time, Dr. Nackers enjoys knitting, crocheting, crafting and spending time with family.

I collaborate with families and caregivers to provide the best possible in-hospital care for their child's needs.
