Dan Sklansky, MD, is a pediatric hospitalist at UW Health. Dr. Sklansky provides care for hospitalized children with a wide variety of health conditions.
Dr. Sklansky has a clinical interest in finding ways to avoid unintended harm from tests and treatments. He is also interested in improving care for children hospitalized with pneumonia, jaundice and insufficient caloric intake.
Dr. Sklansky’s care philosophy is to treat each patient as an individual, knowing that different people need different plans. He believes that his job is to listen first, then provide his expertise and develop treatment in line with each family’s needs and values.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Sklansky is an associate professor of pediatrics in the Division of Hospital Medicine, and the Pediatric Residency Program Director. He is passionate about improving relationships between patients, families and medical trainees.
Outside of work, Dr. Sklansky enjoys watching baseball games, reading, gardening and spending time with his family.
I truly love helping people and using the sciences that go into practicing medicine.
