Shannon Cannon, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric urologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Cannon treats children with a variety of conditions, including urinary tract and bladder problems, circumcision complications and undescended testicles. She specializes in robotic surgery for urinary stone disease in children and reconstructive urology surgery. Her care philosophy is to give patients and their families a full understanding of the disease process and all their treatment options. She wants families to feel empowered when making a decision. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Cannon conducts research on the perceptions of support among surgical trainees in residency programs. In her free time, Dr. Cannon enjoys fine dining, playing tennis and spending time with her family. I like developing long-term relationships with my patients and their families by helping them understand their options for the best outcomes.
