Misty Romero Rivera, NP, is a UW Health Kids nurse practitioner. She cares for children and teens for many different reasons, including sports physicals, yearly checkups and helps with minor injuries and illnesses. Some of the conditions she treats include respiratory infections, earaches, sore throats, skin rashes, constipation, and long-term health concerns like asthma, anxiety, depression, and obesity. When needed, she also helps families connect with pediatric specialists.
Misty has a special interest in working with children who have special needs. She focuses on making sure these children get the services and support they need to do their best. She also works closely with their caregivers to make sure everyone feels supported.
Misty chose to work in pediatrics because she loves helping children. She finds their strength and ability to bounce back from illness inspiring. Her goal is to teach kids and their families how to stay healthy—both in body and mind—as they grow. She believes that building a strong, trusting relationship with families is the key to reaching health goals together.
Outside of work, Misty enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and their dog. Her family loves camping and cheering on their kids in theater and sports.
