Michael Tuite, MD

About

Michael Tuite, MD, is a UW Health radiologist. He specializes in imaging and intervention for musculoskeletal issues, which affect muscles, joints, ligaments and bones. He treats patients with shoulder injuries and sports injuries. Using CT scans, MRI scans and X-rays, he captures an internal view of a patient’s joints, spine and extremities. Dr. Tuite also is a professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Tuite practices pain relief as part of his specialty. He provides cortisone shots in the spine, knees and hips to relieve joint pain, and provides epidurals and other injections to block nerve pain. He’s honest and upfront with his patients about the level of pain relief they can expect. He’s always willing to try other methods for pain relief if the patient doesn’t get the expected response.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Tuite researches ways to increase the accuracy of diagnosing shoulder abnormalities on MRI.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Tuite enjoys golfing and swimming.

My goal for each patient is for them to have long-term pain relief.
