About

Melissa Pechan, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant specializing in neurosurgery. She provides care for individuals with a wide range of brain, spine and nerve conditions that require surgery.

Melissa cares for patients with brain conditions, including aneurysms (a bulge in a weakened blood vessel in the brain), subdural hematomas (blood buildup on the surface of the brain) and brain tumors. She also cares for patients with vascular (blood vessel) concerns. These include blood vessel narrowing in the head and neck and vascular malformations (abnormally developed blood vessels). Melissa is particularly interested in non-invasive treatments for vascular diseases in the brain and spine.

In collaboration with the neurosurgical team, Melissa strives to comfort people in difficult moments. She believes in treating patients like family and enjoys building meaningful relationships with them. She empowers patients to take control of their health by educating them on their conditions and involving them in the decision-making process.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys walking and spending time with her family and dog.

My patients are like family to me. I am dedicated to ensuring their confidence and comfort throughout every stage of their journey.
