Acerca de
Mark Mounajjed, MD, is a UW Health infectious disease doctor. He's also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Mounajjed treats the full scope of infectious diseases. He has a special interest in treating staph aureus infections, which are caused by staph bacteria. This includes MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and endocarditis, or inflammation of the heart valves. Dr. Mounajjed also cares for patients who have orthopedic hardware infections and patients infected with HIV.
Dr. Mounajjed understands that the complex care needed to treat most infectious diseases can interfere with a patient’s daily life. He takes time to discuss treatment options and partners with patients and families to develop a personalized care plan that best fits their needs.
Outside of work, Dr. Mounajjed enjoys fishing, scuba diving, cooking and baking.
My hope for my patients is that they will be able to look back at their health issues as if they were just a bad dream that has passed.
