Laura Karls, OT

Laura Karls, OT, is a UW Health occupational therapist who treats patients of all ages with shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand injuries. Laura sees patients who are recovering from surgery. She also works with patients who have fractures, trauma and other injuries.  

Laura became an occupational therapist because she wanted to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. She focuses on developing strong and trusting relationships with her patients. Laura wants to ensure they feel heard, valued and involved in their care decisions. 

Outside of the clinic, Laura enjoys camping, sports, gardening, spending time with family and making natural homemade products. 

I believe in treating each patient as a unique individual, considering not just their medical needs but their emotional, psychological and social well-being.
