Laura Hermsen, PA

Laura Hermsen, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant who specializes in urology. She cares for patients with concerns regarding the urinary tract and reproductive organs.

Laura is part of a team of doctors, nurses and other physician assistants who treat patients needing a surgical procedure to address a specific concern, such as: urethral strictures, ureteral strictures, benign prostate enlargement, incontinence and erectile dysfunction.

In her daily practice, Laura ensures that patients have satisfactory answers to all questions before undergoing surgery. She also monitors their progress at their first visit after surgery (postoperative visit). Over time, Laura sees patients during future follow-up appointments to make sure their goals are being met and that they are happy with the outcome.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys cooking, working out and spending time with her two young boys.

My hope for my patients is that when they see me, they feel comfortable with me, that they feel heard, that I’m able to answer all their questions, that they understand their treatment options and that they’re able to make an informed decision about their care.
