Kavita Poddar, RD, CDCES, is a UW Health registered dietitian nutritionist and certified diabetes care and education specialist). Kavita works with adults who have type 2 diabetes and related chronic diseases. She helps people manage blood sugars and other disorders associated with diabetes such as elevated blood cholesterol, blood pressure and body weight. Kavita educates patients about nutrition and lifestyle changes to manage blood sugars and improve their health and well-being. She helps patients choose treatment plans that fit their needs and lifestyles. Kavita provides in person and virtual appointments and leads small group diabetes education classes. With a patient-centered approach to care, Kavita empowers patients to take control of their healthcare and be actively involved in the decision-making process. She treats each patient like family and is dedicated to helping them and their families live healthier, happier lives. In her free time, Kavita enjoys running, hiking, snowshoeing, and traveling to places where she and her husband can appreciate nature and learn about people, cultures, and cuisines.
