About

Kari Wisinski, MD, is a medical oncologist at UW Health. Dr. Wisinski diagnoses and treats all forms of breast cancer, from localized carcinomas to cancers that have metastasized (spread) throughout the body. She specializes in reducing the risk of breast cancer recurrence in previously diagnosed patients.

Dedicated to improving patient experience, Dr. Wisinski collaborates with her patients to create care plans that reflect their individualized needs. She focuses on what is most important to people and helps them understand their diagnosis and the variety of treatment options that align with their goals.

Dr. Wisinski is the endowed professor and chief of the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine. She actively researches new therapies for breast cancer and leads clinical trials focused on safe treatments and protocols.

In her free time, Dr. Wisinski enjoys playing volleyball and tennis and spending time with her three children.

My hope for each patient is that they feel comfortable with the decisions that we make together.
