About

Elizabeth Holden, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner who specializes in gastroenterology. She treats a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal (GI) conditions ranging from inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis to common digestive conditions such as acid reflux, abdominal pain and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Elizabeth specializes in IBD and IBS and offers personalized care for these conditions and their related symptoms. Understanding that digestive issues can affect all aspects of a person’s life, she listens to her patients’ concerns and goals to put them at ease. She gets their perspectives about treatment approaches and explains how targeted therapies can relieve symptoms and help patients to feel better.

Her goal with every patient is to help them live life to the fullest without their disease or digestive condition interfering with day-to-day activities.

In her free time, Elizabeth likes to play volleyball whenever she gets the chance. She is a busy mother of two and stays involved in her children’s activities.

It’s an exciting time with new treatments and updated research on inflammatory bowel disease and GI conditions. We're learning more about the gut and its role in our health.
