About

David Upton, MD, FACS, is a UW Health otolaryngologist and an associate professor in the Division of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Surgery. He also serves as the chief of otolaryngology services at UnityPoint Health-Meriter Hospital.

Dr. Upton provides comprehensive care for children and adults with a range of ear, nose and throat issues. He diagnoses and treats ear and sinus infections, hearing and balance issues, swallowing and speech disorders, and sleep and breathing problems.

While he enjoys all aspects of head and neck care, Dr. Upton is particularly interested in the surgical treatment of adults with obstructive sleep apnea.

As a lifelong “Wisconsinite,” Dr. Upton enjoys distance running and outdoor activities.

One of the most exciting parts of my job is the opportunity to use new treatments and technology to improve people’s lives. It’s rewarding to treat patients with kindness and respect and help them feel and function better.
