Carrie Thiessen, MD, is a UW Health transplant surgeon. She is also an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation. Dr. Thiessen specializes in kidney and pancreas transplant surgeries. She evaluates end-stage kidney or pancreatic disease patients. Dr. Thiessen also treats patients with severe complications related to diabetes or chronic pancreatitis for kidney, pancreas or islet cell transplant, including performing total pancreatectomy auto islet transplant.
