Carolyn Michaels, NP, is a UW Health Kids nurse practitioner in pediatric infectious diseases. She treats children with infections in their bones, skin, soft tissue, respiratory tract, urinary tract, digestive tract, nervous system and blood. These infections may be bacterial, fungal, viral or parasitic. Carolyn has a special interest in caring for children with weakened immune systems (immunocompromised) and complex medical conditions.
Carolyn began her career in health care as a bedside nurse. Now, as a nurse practitioner, she continues to build strong, nurturing relationships with every child and family she meets. Beyond patient care, she focuses on educating families in a way that’s clear and understandable. She’s there to help them stay informed at every step.
In her free time, Carolyn enjoys gardening, running, hiking and spending as much time outside as possible.
My goal has always been to offer compassionate care for patients and support their families through clear, meaningful education.
