About

Brian Griffith, MD, is a UW Health pulmonary and critical care medicine doctor and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

As a pulmonologist (lung doctor), Dr. Griffith diagnoses and treats patients with a range of critical health concerns, from acute (sudden) issues to complex multi-system disorders. He sees patients with severe lung conditions and life-threatening respiratory infections. Dr. Griffith is experienced in minimally invasive procedures and specializes in interstitial lung disease (disorders that cause progressive lung scarring).

Although he meets people at difficult times, Dr. Griffith looks forward to building lasting relationships with his patients and their families. Dr. Griffith demonstrates compassionate care in every aspect of his work. He encourages patients to choose treatments that will restore their functionality and he helps them find strength in their own resilience.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Griffith enjoys educating, training and working with medical students, residents and fellows. He also participates in recruiting for interstitial lung disease studies.

In his free time, Dr. Griffith enjoys playing the guitar, cello, piano and mandolin and exploring the outdoors with his family.

I strive to empower people to live functional, healthy, active lives where they can contribute to their family and community in any way that they want.
