Anne Lidor, MD, MPH, FACS, is a UW Health surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery, including general surgery and bariatric (weight management) procedures. Dr. Lidor is also a professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Lidor primarily focuses on conditions affecting the stomach and the esophagus (the tube that carries food to the stomach). She treats cancerous and noncancerous esophageal tumors, gastric (stomach) tumors, and gallstones. Dr. Lidor also repairs hernias — when tissues bulge through openings in the diaphragm, abdominal wall or other body parts. With advanced, fellowship-level training and experience, Dr. Lidor performs many emergency procedures and complex corrective surgeries after unsuccessful surgeries performed elsewhere. As a bariatric surgery specialist, Dr. Lidor consults with and guides obese patients who haven’t been able to lose weight through healthy diet and exercise programs. She offers minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery for obesity, including gastric band, gastric bypass and revisional surgeries. In addition to caring for patients and teaching, Dr. Lidor researches outcomes after minimally invasive surgery. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking her daughter to soccer games at home and across the country. It’s meaningful and rewarding to make a positive impact on my patients’ lives and help them to feel better.
