Acerca de

Afshin Heidari, MD, is a UW Health anesthesiologist and interventional pain management specialist.

He diagnoses and treats people with chronic (ongoing) pain, including nerve pain, back and neck pain, arthritis and headache pain. Dr. Heidari is also an assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

To help patients feel better, Dr. Heidari uses the latest interventional pain treatments. These may include injections, therapeutic nerve blocks and implantable devices. He also performs ablation (use of heat waves to disrupt nerve signals that cause pain), infusion therapy (delivery of medications through the bloodstream) and other minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Heidari offers these procedures along with conventional pain treatments, such as oral medication.

When meeting with patients, Dr. Heidari pinpoints the source of their pain and creates customized care plans to treat their unique needs. He helps people control their pain and discomfort so they can function better at work, rest and play.

I offer advanced treatments to relieve pain and manage discomfort. I help people feel better and enjoy higher quality lives.
