About

Sarah Benedict, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner specializing in internal medicine. She provides primary care for patients over the age of 18 with a wide spectrum of acute and chronic health conditions, mental health issues and substance abuse disorders.

Sarah sees patients for general health care concerns, including acute conditions like infections, urinary complaints, skin lesions and gastrointestinal (digestive) disorders as well as chronic conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) and diabetes. Sarah also offers preventive services such as wellness visits, HIV prevention (PrEP), routine physicals and annual health checkups. She provides education and simple lifestyle tips that can make a big impact on overall wellness.

Because Sarah is committed to enhancing the wellness of those who are often underserved, she has a clinical interest in caring for patients seeking gender-affirming services and providing support for those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction and mental health disorders.

Sarah knows that individualized care that considers the whole person, not just their diagnosis, is the key to a healthier life. She works in partnership with her patients to understand their goals and choose treatments that suit their needs. She listens with compassion to bring comfort during stressful times and provides education to help her patients make informed decisions about their health care.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys traveling, exploring the mountains with her family and playing with her two kittens.

All health concerns deserve time and attention, and I want my patients to know that I will be there for them every step of the way. My goal is to make their day a little better.
