About

Sara Dawkins, PA, is a UW Health Kids pediatric physician assistant. Sara provides orthopedic care for patients from birth through their early 20s for musculoskeletal problems. She regularly provides care for conditions such as hip dysplasia (which causes hip dislocation) and scoliosis (curvature of the spine). Sara also cares for young people who have suffered orthopedic injuries, including fractures and sports injuries.

Sara has a special clinical interest in sports medicine. She enjoys working to build trust with her patients and their families. From there, she can create the treatment plan that best fits their needs. Sara works with a multidisciplinary team to provide each patient with comprehensive care that gets them quickly and safely on the road to recovery.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys running, yoga, gardening and spending time with her two sons. She’s also learning from her father how to make pottery.

I always try to explain things in a way that the child understands, which helps to alleviate their fears and their caregivers’ fears.
