Rory Makielski, MD

About

Rory Makielski, MD, is a hematologist and oncologist at UW Health and a clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He treats all forms of cancer and blood disorders (hematology).

Dr. Makielski specializes in genitourinary (genital and urinary organ) and gastrointestinal (GI) cancer. He treats conditions such as bladder, prostate and renal cell (kidney) cancer, as well as abdominal, colorectal and other GI cancers. Additionally, he treats leukemia, lymphoma, anemia and related blood cancers and conditions.

Science and medicine have always fascinated Dr. Makielski. His work allows him to apply his knowledge of science directly to helping patients during the most difficult times in their lives. Dr. Makielski values patient-centered care and works as a partner in each patient's health.

I recognize that all patients are unique and that – especially in cancer care – a customized treatment plan that considers individual needs is far better than a “one size fits all” approach.
