About

Katie Benavente, PT, is a UW Health Kids physical therapist. She brings advanced training and experience to help children and families navigate physical challenges with confidence and care.

Katie specializes in treating conditions such as torticollis, plagiocephaly, gait abnormalities like toe walking, developmental and gross motor delays, neuromotor conditions and musculoskeletal injuries. She also has a particular interest in complex conditions such as arthrogryposis multiplex congenita and provides expertise in serial casting when needed. Her goal is to support children in building strength, improving movement and achieving milestones that matter most to their families.

Her approach to care is centered on listening and collaboration. Katie works closely with families to understand their priorities and create personalized strategies that promote skill development or help children return to their previous level of function. She addresses mobility concerns across stages of development, guides families through equipment and orthotic recommendations, and partners with physicians and other providers to ensure comprehensive care.

Outside of her clinical work, Katie values being part of a supportive community and is committed to helping families feel empowered throughout their child’s care journey.
