About
Katie Boomer, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant and inpatient hospitalist specializing in neurosurgery. Katie helps patients who require advanced hospital care for stroke and other brain and nervous system conditions.
She is part of a multispecialty team that meets changing care needs throughout a patient’s stay in the neurosurgical intensive care unit (ICU). She manages care after brain surgery and other needs for patients with brain conditions.
Katie monitors and treats patients with ischemic stroke (blocked blood vessel in the brain) and hemorrhagic stroke (involving bleeding in the brain). She also helps patients with traumatic brain injuries and life-threatening brain conditions, such as aneurysm (weakened blood vessel) ruptures.
Katie educates patients and families about complex conditions and care needs. She works closely with patients, neurosurgeons and care teams from admission to ICU to recovery after surgery or other treatments.
Katie enjoys spending her time away from work with family and friends.
I help my patients and their families feel as comfortable as possible during what may be the most difficult time in their lives.
