Katherine Wang, MD

About

Katherine Wang, MD, is a UW Health geriatrician and an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Wang treats older patients with dementia and cognitive challenges, as well as other conditions that commonly affect people as they age such as arthritis.

Dr. Wang cares for patients who have difficulty leaving their home by bringing the care to them so they can achieve their goals. As an expert in palliative care, she also offers services to prevent or relieve pain and suffering.

Dr. Wang attributes her interest in geriatric care to her strong relationship with her grandparents and older people in her community. She is passionate about introducing home care medicine to medical students and other care providers at UW Health. She considers it a valuable step toward understanding many social and environmental factors that can affect somebody's health and health care.

In her free time, Dr. Wang enjoys cooking, knitting and spending time outdoors with her family.

Caring for people at home offers a unique and wonderful window into who they are as a person. It’s a privilege and joy to walk with my patients through transitions in life.
