About

Jon Arnason, MD, is a rheumatologist at UW Health and a clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine. Dr. Arnason treats inflammatory and autoimmune rheumatic conditions that affect the joints, skin, muscles, bones and other tissues. He also treats autoimmune rheumatic diseases affecting internal organs, including the kidneys, heart and brain.

Dr. Arnason uses ultrasound technology to diagnose, monitor and manage rheumatic diseases. Skilled in the latest medical advances, he uses ultrasound to guide joint aspiration, injections, and other clinical procedures used to treat pain, stiffness and swelling associated with these conditions.

In his free time, Dr. Arnason enjoys photography, music, gardening, cooking and outdoor activities. Weather-permitting, he also enjoys commuting to work by bicycle.

It’s rewarding to see people get better. Patients who could barely walk or perform daily activities can now enjoy life as if they were free of disease.
