About

Cindy Xiao, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant who works with patients facing conditions that affect the brain and nervous system. Cindy supports individuals and families through careful evaluation, treatment planning and ongoing care. She is committed to helping patients understand their health and feel confident about their care every step of the way.

Cindy provides care in general neurology, which means she treats a wide range of conditions involving the brain and nerves. She commonly sees patients with headaches, stroke, epilepsy or seizure disorders, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders and other neurological conditions. Her training allows her to care for patients with both new and ongoing concerns and she focuses on clear explanation so patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options.

Cindy chose a career in medicine because of her early experiences helping her first-generation parents navigate a complex health care system. These experiences shaped her desire to be a compassionate and trustworthy advocate for patients during vulnerable moments in their lives. Her approach to care combines strong medical knowledge with empathy and respect. She believes in meeting patients and families where they are, listening closely, communicating clearly and working together to make shared decisions that support high quality, patient centered care.

Outside of work, Cindy enjoys traveling and reading as ways to relax and learn about the world. She also practices hot yoga and values spending time with friends and family. At home, she enjoys the company of her two cats, who help her recharge and maintain balance between her professional and personal life.
