About
Christian Hyde, MD, is a UW Health radiation oncologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine Public Health. He cares for people with cancer using advanced, noninvasive treatments and is committed to helping each person understand their care options in a clear and supportive way.
Dr. Hyde specializes in radiation oncology, which uses focused radiation to treat cancer while protecting healthy tissue. His clinical interests include prostate cancer, bladder cancer and cancers of the gastrointestinal system, which include the stomach and intestines. He values the precision of modern radiation therapy and how it can shrink tumors, relieve symptoms and in many cases help cure disease. Dr. Hyde enjoys working with patients from all walks of life and learning what matters most to them as individuals.
Dr. Hyde believes the best care comes from strong communication and teamwork. He takes time to listen closely to patients and caregivers and encourages shared decision making so care plans match each patient’s goals and priorities. Having seen loved ones go through cancer treatment himself, he approaches care with empathy, honesty and respect. His goal is to reduce suffering, protect quality of life, and help patients know what to expect at each step of treatment.
Outside of work, Dr. Hyde enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. He loves cycling and hiking and looks forward to exploring local trails. These activities help him recharge and stay connected to the healthy lifestyle he encourages for his patients.
