About
Carson Borbely, LCSW, is a UW Health social worker. She serves adolescents in clinic and provides school-based brief intervention services for the Verona Area School District.
Carson treats adolescents with a range of mental health concerns, with a special interest in trauma, mood disorders, ADHD and autism spectrum disorder. She also helps patients and families better understand substance use and mental health challenges. Carson uses an intersectional framework, which means she considers how identity and life experiences, including marginalization, can affect mental health. She is an inclusive, LGBTQIA plus aware provider and enjoys working with people across many experiences of sexuality, gender identity and gender expression.
Carson provides strengths focused therapy, which builds on what is already going well and what each patient does best. She uses approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, which helps connect thoughts, feelings and actions, and dialectical behavioral therapy skills, which can help with coping and emotions. She creates individualized treatment plans and offers psychotherapy and psychoeducation in ways that fit different learning styles, ability levels and interests. Carson believes in the inherent dignity and worth of every person and grounds her care in warmth, compassion and respect for lived experience.
