About

Andrew Witmer, OT, is an occupational therapist at UW Health. He specializes in rehabilitation therapy for conditions affecting the hands and upper extremities.

Andrew treats various chronic and acute conditions occurring from shoulder to hand, including finger, wrist and elbow fractures, shoulder injuries and impingements, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, tendonitis, nerve-related problems such as carpel tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome, hypermobility disorders like Ehlers-Danlos and general pain of the upper extremities. While he works with all patients in need of orthopedic care, Andrew particularly enjoys working with both recreational and competitive athletes.

Andrew’s main goal is to help his patients return to their desired tasks and activities. By prioritizing and simplifying the recovery process, he hopes to provide his patients with sustainable treatment plans that can be easily replicated in their daily schedules.

Because Andrew is passionate about teaching future occupational therapists, he works with graduate students during their clinical rotations.

In his free time, Andrew runs marathons and plays hockey. He also enjoys traveling and exploring new restaurants with his family and cheering on his favorite local teams.

I love interacting with clients on a personal level and helping them achieve optimal functioning in their daily lives.
