Construction of New UW Health DeForest/Windsor Clinic Underway

MADISON - UW Health DeForest and UW Health Waunakee will merge into a new clinic scheduled to open in the spring of 2011.

UW Health DeForest/Windsor will be located at 4131 Meridian Drive near Highways 19 and 51 in Windsor, Wisconsin.

"If our history with our other clinics leaves us any clue about the future, this is going to be a wonderful place to be a patient and a wonderful place to work," said Dr. Jeffrey Grossman, president and CEO of the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation.

The 21,000-square-foot building will offer a wide assortment of services including family medicine, mammography, health and nutrition education and group classes, an X-ray room, laboratory and a healing garden.

"It will be centrally located, have the same friendly faces and the same hometown feeling," said Trina Copus, clinic manager.

Environmentally friendly techniques will be used during construction in pursuit of certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), a prestigious honor provided by the U.S. Green Building Council.
