Ashley Privalle, MD

About

Ashley Privalle, MD, is a UW Health dermatologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Privalle provides care for adult patients who have a wide variety of skin conditions, including skin cancer.

Dr. Privalle’s clinical interest is in skin cancer detection and treatment. She regularly works with patients who have atypical moles, melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancer and those who have a strong family history of melanoma. She also treats other common skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, rosacea and hair loss.

Dr. Privalle enjoys building relationships with her patients and takes the time to learn about their needs and goals as well as the lifestyle factors that affect their skin health. When working with patients who receive a skin cancer diagnosis, she strives to reduce their anxiety by using plain language to explain their condition and treatment options.

In addition to her clinical and teaching roles, Dr. Privalle conducts research focused on quality improvement and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to review imaging.

Outside of work, Dr. Privalle enjoys spending time with her family and their dog.

It’s very rewarding to see my patients come back after treatment feeling better and seeing the impact treatment has made on their quality of life.
