Class Spotlight: Yoga Pilates Mix
Have you ever had a friend tell you how great his or her Pilates class is? Or maybe a different friend has boasted to you about how a Yoga class has improved his/her health. You're interested in trying both, but there's only so much time during the week.
Why not both? Fortunately, the UW Health Sports Medicine Fitness Center offers Yoga Pilates Mix – combining the best elements of both practices into a single class.
Yoga and Pilates are both well known for active elongation, stabilization, core strengthening and breath work. This class blends the best of these two practices into an efficient 60 minute class. Beginning and continuing students are welcome, no previous experience in these practices is necessary. Open your body to a whole new feeling of strength and grace.
Yoga Pilates Mix meets on Thursday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30pm. The class is taught by Alicia Wright. Alicia is a 200 hour registered yoga instructor and has taught Alignment Yoga here since 2014. She is also a certified Pilates instructor and has recently launched the inaugural Yoga Pilates Mix class. Read more about Alicia in our instructor spotlight.
