The first presentation of the UW Foundation's Women's Health Series 2012 occurs during National Women's Health Week and features Dr. Ellen Hartenbach, recipient of a Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation Champion in Women's Health Award. Hartenbach's extraordinary leadership in women's health earned her this award.
Her presentation will focus on women's hereditary cancers, covering the role that genetic makeup and family history play in a woman's risk for breast and ovarian cancer and why the identification of genetic markers for these cancers became the standard of care.
The event begins with a light buffet dinner followed by the presentation and a Question-and-Answer session.
