Rupesh Patel, DO

Rupesh Patel, DO, is a UW Health maternal-fetal medicine specialist. He diagnoses and cares for patients with pregnancy-related complications and those at risk for them. Dr. Patel treats pre-existing and new medical conditions that affect prenatal development or maternal (the mother’s) health. He treats patients through all stages of pregnancy, labor and childbirth.

Dr. Patel helps manage diabetes during pregnancy to prevent related risks. He also specializes in pre-eclampsia complications. Pre-eclampsia causes high blood pressure and other symptoms. It can affect a developing child and cause complications such as preterm delivery and low birth weight.

Dr. Patel offers compassionate, personalized care. He believes in shared decision-making and keeps patients fully informed and involved in their care. He educates patients about their condition throughout pregnancy and after childbirth. Dr. Patel focuses on reducing pregnancy-related complications and supporting long-term health goals. He also educates patients about ways to lower their risk of complications in future pregnancies.

Dr. Patel enjoys running in his free time, including competitive races and working out. He’s also an avid sports fan.
