Quartz, a UW Health affiliate*, provides the management and administrative services for Unity Health Insurance and Gundersen Health Plan. Quartz also sells administrative services to self-funded clients as a third-party administrator.
Today, Quartz manages services for the health insurance plans Unity and Gundersen as well as provides administrative services for self-funded health plans, while serving 275,000 customers who live in southern and western Wisconsin, parts of Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota from offices located in Middleton, Sauk City and Onalaska, Wis.
Unity Health Insurance, formed in 1994, is an affiliate of UW Health and Gundersen Health System* and provides community-based managed care products and services to about 186,000 members throughout 26 counties in southwestern Wisconsin. Unity Health Insurance focuses on community-based health care and direct access to UW Health, Gundersen Health System and other local health care providers.
Gundersen Health Plan, founded in 1995, and with approximately 80,000 members in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, is an affiliate of Gundersen Health System and UW Health*. With an extensive provider network, Gundersen Health Plan offers a variety of plans, including its five-star-rated Senior Preferred HMO, to meet the needs of the communities it serves.
Quartz's parent companies are University Health Care, Inc. and Gundersen Health System. UHC is comprised of University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (UWHC) and University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation (UWMF). Quartz is headquartered in Sauk City.
