May 6, 2017 - A southern Wisconsin family was referred to UnityPoint Health – Meriter after a problem was discovered during their pregnancy. A UW Health physician at the Center for Perinatal Care, a joint program for high-risk pregnancies, performed a procedure that allowed the mother to carry her pregnancy to full-term and deliver a healthy baby girl.

April 10, 2017 – UW Health, UnityPoint Health, UnityPoint Health – Meriter (Meriter), Physicians Plus Insurance Corp., Unity Health Plans Insurance Corp. (Unity) and Gundersen Health Plan have reached two important milestones in their plans to collaborate more closely in the future.
February 12 – 2017 - Wisconsin is seeing a growing number of babies born dependent to opioids due to exposure during pregnancy. Dr. Elizabeth Goetz, a UW Health pediatrician, and a multidisciplinary team of nurses, social workers and therapists in the NICU at UnityPoint Health – Meriter are providing leading-edge care and comfort to mothers and babies.
August 15, 2016 - After determining baby may need surgery immediately after birth, UW Health physicians, along with labor and delivery staff from Meriter, successfully worked to together to perform the first scheduled cesarean section at American Family Children's Hospital. The family was referred from Northeast Wisconsin to Madison for UW Health and Meriter's renowned Mother-Baby Care program.
Close alignments to increase access to broader networks, drive value for patients
June 30, 2016 – Leaders at UnityPoint Health – Meriter, UnityPoint Health, UW Health, Physicians Plus Insurance Corp., and Unity Health Plans Insurance Corp. (Unity) and Gundersen Health Plan (GHP) have signed two non-binding letters of intent (LOI) to explore potential collaboration between the organizations. This is the first step in a larger, complex process that provides the opportunity for the organizations to explore potential benefits for patients, families and the community.
December 25, 2013 - After a local woman was diagnosed with a tumor requiring open heart surgery during pregnancy, a multidisciplinary team of physicians and staff from UW Health and UnityPoint Health – Meriter worked together to perform the operation and keep both mom and baby healthy.
