E.J. Stanton's Total Knee Replacement

E.J. Stanton had total knee replacement surgery in November 2011. Here's his story.
My initial consultation visit with Dr. Richard Illgen of UW Health was Sept. 29, 2011. After meeting with an intern representative of his staff, among numerous other health care associates, I met Dr. Illgen for the first time. He conducted himself in a friendly professional manner.
I could see a man whom was very passionate about his work, as was explained to me by my referring Rheumatologist, Dr. Frederick Dietz in Rockford, Ill. After a pre-surgery visit on Nov. 2, my surgery was scheduled for Nov. 22, 2011. Everyone whom I came in contact with in the next three days was extremely professional and helpful to the utmost degree.
I am proud to tell people of my experience at the UW Hospital and Clinics. Even though I live two hours away in Illinois, I feel it was worth the drive and distance to have a top-notch doctor such as Dr. Illgen address my situation and repair 10-plus years of a worn-out knee joint.
At this point I am well on the road to recovery, and just yesterday finished my last session of physical therapy when I reached a range of motion of 120 degrees. It was a long and painful process, but well worth the results. Looking back, I wonder now why I waited so long to have the surgery.
I will say I totally vouch for Dr. Richard Illgen if you are looking at a knee replacement. He is the best there is in my book, and you won't regret having him preform your surgery. I couldn't be happier with my results. Thank you, Dr. Illgen for a job well done!
