Mark and Sarah Tauscher and American Family Insurance team up to support American Family Children’s Hospital

Madison, Wis. – With the Badger football season under way, the team’s youngest fans and their parents have even more reason to cheer this year.

This season, Mark Tauscher — the lead Wisconsin Badgers football analyst for the Badger Radio Network and former Badgers and Green Bay Packers offensive lineman — and his wife Sarah are partnering with American Family Insurance to support American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison with a new campaign called “Teaming Up for Kids.”

American Family Insurance, a perennial supporter of American Family Children’s Hospital, will contribute a dollar-for-dollar match for every donation received, up to $50,000, from now until the end of the Badgers football season.

“American Family has a strong commitment to championing our communities through meaningful investments that have a significant impact,” said Jim Buchheim, community and social impact officer, American Family Insurance. “From our initial gift of $10 million in 2003 to other contributions, as well as donating half the proceeds from the PGA TOUR Champions AmFam Champ each year, we’re proud to partner with Mark and Sarah in this latest effort to support American Family Children’s Hospital and the world-class services it provides to kids and families.”

The Tauschers have also created a message of support for American Family Children’s Hospital that will be played on the Camp Randall Stadium video board at home football games this fall.

“We are excited that Mark and Sarah are using their platform and joining with American Family Insurance to support the children of our community and beyond who need the remarkable pediatric care we provide,” said Nikki Stafford, vice president of pediatric services and president of American Family Children’s Hospital. “These donations will have a direct and positive impact on the patients and families we have the honor of serving.”

The Tauschers are longtime supporters of American Family Children’s Hospital. Mark visited children at the hospital while playing for the Badgers and Packers. Mark and Sarah are members of the Development Partners Advisory Board.

“Badger athletes have a long tradition of supporting kids at American Family Children’s Hospital,” Mark said. “I’m proud to continue that legacy of support.”

American Family Children’s Hospital, which opened in 2007, is a world-class facility with a Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with more than 40 specialty care programs and 300 physicians and surgeons. It has treated more than one million infants, children and adolescents, and continues to be on the cutting edge of the most advanced medical care.

“With two children of our own, we know how important it is to have access to the best health care,” Sarah said. “We are so fortunate to have this incredible children’s hospital in our backyard and we’re excited to support the remarkable care teams at American Family Children’s Hospital.”
